The unforgettable trip to Japan

Photo of Tokyo city

Last month, Tom and Lily went on a holiday to Japan. They chose to travel in May when the weather was nice and cool. They stayed at a hostel with other tourists in Kyoto, a beautiful city in the Kansai region of Japan. The trip was great because they met many people from around the world. They heard many interesting stories and learned about different cultures.

Tom and Lily tried to speak as much Japanese as they could during their stay. In the mornings, they would chat with their Japanese roommates. In the afternoons, they would visit famous places or try traditional Japanese sports.

Tom and Lily spent enjoyable moments with their new friends. Sometimes, they would all walk to the nearby park or the city centre. In the evenings, they would watch movies or play games at the hostel.

Their most exciting days were when they went on a trip to Tokyo during the weekend. Tokyo is a big city with many tall buildings and busy streets. They visited many famous places like Tokyo Tower, the Skytree, and the Imperial Palace. They had hoped to catch a glimpse of the Emperor but only saw the palace guards.

Tom and Lily loved everything about the trip, but their favourite part was visiting Tokyo museums, especially the Edo-Tokyo Museum. There were so many interesting things to see there. When it was time to go home, they were a little sad. The trip was fun and different. They hugged their new friends goodbye and promised to keep in touch.
